Morning Dispatch

Greetings from Hong Kong, friends and family. My apologies for not being in better touch sooner, but jetlag and technology issues conspired against me. I am still sorting out many variables as I try to get established here for the semester - phone, apartment, class schedule, towels, Internet access, breakfast food, plug adapters - so this post will be a short one. A few things, though:

It is hot here! 90s and 60-85 percent humidity + a mountain-top campus situ make for rather sweaty times.

It is also so beautiful - I am living in the tropics, replete with bird song, lush green mountains, and glittering sea below.

I have already met three of four of my compatriots from AU; all seem pleasant and we likely will all live in the same neighborhood, downtown, on HK Island, near the law school (they are already neighbors, I am the only one sans permanent lodging).

Must go now, but more later. Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes; they've been working...

Mare-bear,

Glad to see that you have arrived safe and sound. I am procrastinating from getting stuff ready for school. I hope that your first week of classes goes well. When you have an address could you please post it? Hugs!
